Choral Ensembles
WRAPPING UP: Last week, Chamber Singers, Treble Choir, and Chorale performed their last concert of the year, our 8-12 Combined Choral Night. Now, they are working on Final Exams and End of the Year Assessments. For their Final Exams, students in Chamber Singers and Treble Choir are learning pieces on their own in small groups. Students in Chorale are working on presentations to share with the class regarding various topics related to choral singing. Our last day of classes is June 17th, and the last day of exams (and last day of school for the year) is June 24th.
Chamber Singers and Treble Choir will have their last performance of the year, on Saturday, June 6, at the Class of 2026 WMHS Graduation Ceremony.
A Cappella Groups
Voices of Steel has one final gig in June! They will be singing at the Wakefield Human Rights Commission’s Progress Flag Raising on June 1st. The group is looking forward to next year, and already starting to make plans for 2026-2027!!

May has been a super exciting month for the Choral Department! We kicked it off with Chicago, the dazzling spring musical. It featured many choral students on stage, off stage, and in the pit. The show brought in large crowds across all three nights, bringing together the community to celebrate the hard work students put into the musical! On May 20th, we had our annual Spring Choral Night. This concert featured singers from 8-12 grade including every voice ensemble in the high school! We performed many combined pieces with the 8th graders as well as a song for changed voices and a song for treble voices! The concert also featured both WMHS a cappella groups, Voices of Steel and Mic Drop! Choral Night was super fun and became one of the highlights of the year! We are looking forward to singing at graduation in June and beginning to prepare for next year! Overall, May was a very successful month for the Choral Department!
