Student Perspective Please enjoy this note from one of our students, sophomore Lia McCarthy!!

As the year comes to a close, December has felt nonstop for our choral department. Between performances, events, and planning, it’s been a month that really shows everyone's dedication. Early in the month, we held our Winter Concert, and it was encouraging to see such a large and supportive audience. It is always so nice to see everyone's hard work pay off. To add on, all month, Voices of Steel has performed at multiple holiday gigs in the community, such as our many elementary schools. We have also been raising money by selling calendars, which has been a great way to support our program. Many of our members also helped run the Jolly Jingle Express, and even though I personally couldn't attend, many people have said it was one of the best performances they have seen. Later this month, we started thinking ahead by choosing our MICCA music for 2026. December has been such a fun month in the Choral department, and we are all definitely ready for the two week break for the holidays.
