WMHS Choral Update - June 2024

Choral Groups

WE MADE IT! Chamber Singers and Treble Choir both finished the year with small ensemble performances of pieces that they learned entirely on their own, culminating in a class concert during the Final Exam block. Both groups have an assignment to work on for the summer: to get a head start on learning the Senior District Audition piece, “I Know a Young Maiden,” by Orlando Di Lasso, and to learn (or review) their part in the Star Spangled Banner, in preparation for our community performances in the fall.

A Cappella

VOICES OF STEEL: Voices of Steel met several times throughout the month to start planning music for next year, and had two community performances, which included our newest members. They performed at the Human Rights Commission Pride Flag Raising and Brian Agosta’s Comedy Night at the Albion Cultural Exchange. To prepare for a very exciting performance in Memphis in January 2025, they will start the year with boot camp rehearsals in August.

MIC DROP: If any students are interested in joining Mic Drop next year, look for information in the fall, or contact Ms. Morel!
