Choral Ensembles
HAPPY MID YEAR! Our school year is officially half over and Term 3 has begun! Grades will be posted in PowerSchool on February 3. Students and parents should contact me if they have any questions about grades
FESTIVAL NEWS: WMHS students had a wonderful experience at this year’s Senior District Festival. Dr. Charlene Archibeque conducted the chorus in performance at New England Conservatory’s Jordan Hall. Students had the opportunity to learn challenging music and sing with new friends. Students who received All-State recommendations auditioned at Shrewsbury HS on January 21. Congratulations to Paige MacGibbon and Morgan Wallace, who will sing in the All-State Chorus at Symphony Hall on Saturday, March 4. The following students auditioned on January 28 and were accepted into the Junior District Mixed and Treble Choruses: JaMauri Belmer, McKayla Herzog, Cavan Hill, Isaac Melo, Lucy Spry, and Abby Stratton!

Student Perspective
Please enjoy this note from one of our students, senior Paige MacGibbon!!
Hello! My name is Paige and I am a senior. I am the student director of Voices of Steel, the competitive a cappella group, and we are currently working very hard on our competition set for ICHSA. Singing and dancing together takes great focus and hard work, which is achieved by our close bond and strong commitment to the group. I am also in Treble Choir, the honors chorus class for treble voices, and I am very excited about our current selection of music. We are singing crowd favorites such as Landslide by Fleetwood Mac and empowering selections such as Never One Thing by May Erlewine. I was accepted into the Senior District Festival where I sang with talented high school students from the Northeastern District at the New England Conservatory. I recently auditioned and was accepted into the All-State Festival as well, and will be singing at Symphony Hall with immensely talented and devoted high school students from all over Massachusetts. The choral department has given me so many amazing opportunities as a singer to work with countless inspiring people, and I cannot wait to further learn and grow during upcoming events such as the Orlando Trip and All-State Festival
