VPAD is back!
On April 5, after a four year hiatus, Chamber Singers, Treble Choir, Chorale, and Voices of Steel got to perform along with Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, String Ensemble, and Marching Band for all the K-8 students in the Wakefield Public Schools. Visual and Performing Arts Day was one of our favorite traditions that was put on pause during the pandemic, and we were so thrilled to see its return!
Choral Groups
CHORAL NIGHT! Our last concert of the year is approaching quickly - May 23, 7:00 PM! This will be a night of beautiful music - you don’t want to miss it! Our dress rehearsal is on May 22 from 6-9 PM. Both nights are mandatory for all members of the choral ensembles. After the concert, we’ll be spending time on Post-Concert Self-Assessments, then we’ll begin working on Final Exam Performances!
A Cappella Groups
Our busy year is winding down! VOS and Mic Drop will perform at the Tri-M Charity concert for the Meghan S. Burnett Foundation on Friday, May 19, and at our department-wide Choral Night Concert on May 23. We are already getting started planning for next year. Hi, my name is Jhalak Patel and I am a sophomore at WMHS! I'm a member of Voices of Steel, Chamber Singers, and Theater Arts. This month we got to do VPAD, or Visual Performing Arts Day, after a long time. The entire music department was able to put on shows for all the elementary schools and the middle school. This was such an amazing time, and I can’t wait to do it again next year! This April we also have been working super hard for our upcoming Choral Night that showcases what all of our choral groups have been putting together for several months. Additionally, we have been preparing our spring musical, Annie, which opens May 5th! Come see our shows, and stay tuned for more of what the Choral Department does!
