Greetings to the parents and guardians of students in WHS Choral Ensembles!
Phew! We made it through this busy month of performances! I hope you had a chance to enjoy some of our many performances this season! Here’s a look back, and a look forward to 2017!
December Performances: Congratulations to Treble Choir, who made their debut at our Winter Concert on December 20th! We had a very busy month: ensembles from Wakefield High School Choral Department performed 12 times during the month of December. A Cappella groups performed at community events such as the Holiday Stroll and the Festival of Trees at the Boys & Girls Club. She Major has one more performance tonight, at the Albion Cultural Exchange at 6:30pm!
District Festival: The District Festival is January 11, 13, and 14, at UMass Lowell. The concert is open to the public, on Saturday, January 14th. Daniel Abraham from American University will conduct the chorus.
All-State Auditions: Eight of our students will be auditioning for the All-State Chorus on January 21st. This is an all time high for the WHS Choral Department! Best of luck to them!
She Major & Voices of Steel: She Major and Voices of Steel will perform their competition sets for the public on January 29th at the GMS Auditorium, at 3pm. We will host the ICHSA Quarterfinal on February 11th at the GMS Auditorium, at 7pm. Make sure those dates are on your calendar!
